Gertie Murray is the Marketing Director and Lobbyist at Averitt & Associates, and also provides support to the firm in the areas of design, public education and outreach.  She was born and raised in Midland, Texas, and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations from Texas Tech University.

Before joining Averitt & Associates, Gertie was a key player on the public relations team at the Texas Commission of Environmental Quality. In that capacity, she worked extensively to publicize the Take Care of Texas campaign by utilizing social media and creating and distributing advertising materials. She also served as the marketing coordinator for the Texas Computer Recycling Program.  Her other political experience includes working as an assistant to Gordon and Rob Johnson with Johnson & Johnson, Attorneys at Law, and as a Senate Messenger at the Texas Capitol.
